Ebony’s Legacy: Book 1 Keeping The Legacy Alive
I am A. D. Whittington, the author of Ebony’s Legacy: Keeping The Legacy Alive.
I am a southern girl from a small town in Alabama. I love writing historical fiction, children’s stories and pretty much anything else that sparks an interest. I have five children, three boys and two girls. We adopted my girls at ages 11 months and 2.5 years old and they are now ages 3 and 5. My husband suffered a major stroke at age 31 in 2005. I am his caregiver. I take care of him, work a full time job, write, have a mini farm and also have a grandchild. What is your super power?
It took me over twenty years to finish and release my first book. I started writing it back in high school and did not publish it until age 42. It took me that long to believe in myself enough to publish it. The two authors that influenced me the most were Kathleen E. Woodiwiss and Danielle Steel. I grew up reading their books. My middle child was named after a charactor in Kathleen E. Woodiwiss book, Ashes In The Wind. Cole Latimer is one of my favorite characters and I named my middle son after him.
I believe my ideas for my current published book came from my first love back in high school and I finished this book with the help of my angels and guides.
The best advice I ever heard was from my daddy and he did not even know that he gave it to me. Back when I was a child, before I could read, I had a gown that had words on it and I asked my daddy what it said and he said informed me that it said, the sky is the limit. I asked him what that meant and he said it meant that I could do anything that I set my mind to do. This always stuck with me.
Some favorite things that I always carry is my phone. I keep ideas in my phone under notes.
