Associations For Women: Opportunities To Network & Find A New Job
Google the following associations to find their websites. Then find an office of one of these associations which is closet to your home. Visit them and participate in a few of their meetings.
As you actively network, you are sure to meet other women like yourself. And most likely as you expand your circle of contacts you will hear about other job opportunities and new career paths will open up.
Remember – networking is easy. You don’t need to be smart or funny. Just be yourself. Talk to those whom you like. Don’t talk to those whom you don’t like.
An easy way to start a conversation is to ask people to tell you about themselves. Everybody likes to talk about themselves and they will open up to you.
Women Safety First:
Please note that we do not endorse any of the following associations. Nor have we verified their credentials. Please use your judgement if you choose to participate in any of their activities or meetings. And it is best if you choose not to spend money on memberships. Try to identify a reputed institution which is free at least for trial.
Take along a friend of yours in the networking meeting. You will be safer and you will enjoy the meeting more in the company of a like minded friend. You will also find networking easier if you have a friend along as then you will not feel alone and stressed.
