Do you know what blogger burnout is?
Blog burnout is the stress caused by the desperate dash to meet your blog or video post schedule. But why follow a post schedule at all? Why not just write and post when you like?
Blog Content Planning is Important
If you don’t plan ahead about the types of content you want to post, and when you would post them, then neither you nor your audience will know what’s coming next. You will be hunting for ideas every time your post deadline approaches, and you may end up posting something less optimal just to meet the deadline.
Not having a post schedule affects your audience traffic in a huge way. Most people develop some favorites and visit these blogs and videos periodically. If you are not posting regularly, you are going to get out of people’s minds.
People need to see information about a product or service several times before they make a purchase decision. All marketers know this. If you are infrequent and unpredictable in your posting schedule, then it is likely that many people who visit you once or twice will never visit you again.
Search engines (e.g. Google) like blogs or YouTube channels with regular updates and give them higher ranking. If you have a high ranking, your blog is more likely to show up high in the search results, when people search for topics related to your blog.
Blog on Auto Pilot
The most important element for a blog success is a regular post schedule. You MUST post regularly.
In the normal, chaotic life, a regular post schedule is practically impossible.
Seasoned bloggers write a number of posts at a time and then schedule them for posting in future dates. By choosing the Publish date of a blog in future, that blog post will get published when on that day. This is what’s called Blog autopilot.
With a content autopilot plan, when you are away traveling or sick, you can be sure that your blog post or videos will get in front of your audience on the expected date.
Use the content planning template to brainstorm several ideas for blog posts. Write them out in advance so that you can drip feed your blog and not have to panic every time when the post-deadline approaches.
Use the content planner to balance your blog with a mix of format and topics (e.g. How-tos, Interviews, Lists). Brainstorm keywords and call-to-action and monitor their effectiveness through analytics. With a bit of thought, you could organize your content such that the routine blogging activities will be running smoothly, letting you focus on the quality of your posts or videos.
